Creating the solid Walnut top for waist-height bookcase at cottage near Braintree/Dunmow, Essex
This solid piece of Walnut would have been very difficult to cut to shape first time so a pine former was created to help make shape and check that the top could go in easily, something that had to be checked as it was full width in the room and could not be “dropped” straight down the wall as some of the beams were at angles and not vertical
